What are the differences between the 3 Series aluminum plate and the 5 Series aluminum plate?

- Nov 09, 2018-

Among the eight aluminum plates of the existing card system, the 3 series and the 5 series are two series with a large amount of use, and the application industry is relatively wide. The 3 series aluminum plate is also called aluminum manganese alloy. The main grades are 3003 and 3A21. The 5 series aluminum plate is also called aluminum-magnesium alloy. The main grades are 5052, 5083, 5754, 5A05 and 5A06. What are the specific differences between aluminum-manganese alloys and aluminum-magnesium alloys?

Aluminum-manganese alloy: The 3-series aluminum plate has good rust resistance, good formability, high corrosion resistance and high strength.

Aluminum-magnesium alloy: The 5-series aluminum plate is light in weight, high in strength, corrosion-resistant, easy to paint, low in density, good in heat dissipation and strong in compression resistance. It can fully meet the requirements of 3C products with high integration, thin and light, miniaturization, anti-collision and electromagnetic shielding and heat dissipation. Its hardness is several times that of a conventional plastic case, but it weighs only one-third of the latter.

In practical applications, 3 series aluminum plates are often used in applications requiring anti-corrosion and anti-rust properties, such as insulation of pipes and ground anti-skid construction of cold storage; 5 series aluminum plates are more used in manufacturing industries, such as airplanes, automobiles, radiators, etc. It is more widely used and has more commonly used grades.
