1. According to Beijing July 16 news, the National Bureau of Statistics released data on Monday showed that China's aluminum output increased by 0.8% to 2.83 million tons in June. In the first six months of this year, China's aluminum production was 16.47 million tons, an increase of 1.6% year-on-year. Ten non-ferrous metals, including copper, aluminum, lead, zinc and nickel, increased by 1.9% year-on-year to 4.62 million tons in June. Year-to-date production has increased by 3.1% year-on-year to 26.85 million tons.
2. Although trade disputes have intensified, China's steel and aluminum exports have continued to rise in June. China's aluminum exports in June exceeded 500,000 tons for the first time, while steel exports hit an 11-month high. As international prices rose and the RMB weakened, aluminum exports continued to be strong under US pressure. China is one of the world's largest producers of steel and aluminum. Since March 23, the United States has imposed import tariffs of 25% and 10% on China's steel and aluminum, respectively. Even in the case of such high tariffs, China still maintains the ability to export both steel and aluminum.
