In November 2018, The Global Total Output Of Primary Aluminum Was 5.312 Million Tons

According to recent statistics from the International Aluminum Association (IAI), total global primary aluminum production in November 2018 was 5.312 million tons, an increase of 7.6% from last year's 4.938 million tons. From January to November, the total global primary aluminum output reached 58.992 million tons, an increase of 1.5% from last year's 58.05 million tons. From the perspective of global aluminum demand, the overall trend is decreasing. According to the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the total global demand for primary aluminum in the first ten months of this year was 49.54 million tons, a decrease of about 745,000 tons from last year. From January to November 2018, the production of primary aluminum in Asia, including China, was 37.094 million tons, accounting for 63% of global production. In the same period, Asia and Central and Eastern Europe, Oceania and GCC regions except China increased by 12.4%, 1.3%, 5.9% and 4.3% respectively. North and South America decreased by 4.6% and 15.2% respectively.

According to China Customs statistics, China's bauxite imports in November 2018 were about 7.65 million tons, an increase of 25.0% from the previous month and an increase of 30.6% from the same period last year. From January to November 2018, China's bauxite imports totaled 75.49 million tons, an increase of 22.6% over the same period last year.
